Bob Miles - Williams Lake, BC
"Hi, I'm Bob Miles and I've come to the Auctioneers Training Centre from Williams Lake, British Columbia. I have worked the rings for 14 years travelling all over B.C.

Ten years ago, I took a three week auctioneer training course in the U.S. and found that after that training I was not fully prepared to do the best job. Training in the U.S. involved spending a lot of time on tongue-twisters and number drills. There was not much emphasis on the use of 'filler words' which is the art of placing words between the numbers. Cattle buyers generally understand the fast lingo without the use of filler words however many other people attending auctions of other varieties find it difficult to understand what the auctioneer is saying. While training in the U.S. I had 14 instructors yet had no individual instruction. There were many hours of classroom training and lectures as opposed to practical training.

At the Auctioneers Training Centre of Canada, we receive extensive practical training and practiced every day for hours while on the microphone. Our practice involved real live auctions with cattle and miscellaneous items. We were stopped when something was wrong and received individual attention at all times.

The most significant factor responsible for my success in the auctioneering is the superior training methodology practiced by the Auctioneers Training Centre of Canada. The practical and individual training has built my confidence to the level that I will be prepared for any type of auction. I have seen this same level of confidence in the those I have trained with and it is not difficult to recognize an auctioneer trained in the two different styles of training.

I would sincerely like to thank Ken Jordan for this opportunity to build a very successful career as an auctioneer and highly recommend the Auctioneers Training Center of Canada. If I attended this school the first time around, I would have saved a lot of money and time!"
Sincerely,
Bob Miles
